My friend Sebastian provided me a picture and he asked me a question about "Ukimi-do" today. He wanted to know about the meaning of this word, but unfortunately, I haven't known that. In searching it with Google, it seems a temple, which stands over "Biwa-lake" which is the largest lake in Japan. And also, "Ukimi-do" means "floating temple," if I translate in English.
Related to this landscape, some Japanese made "Hai-ku," which is a poem written in Japanese. Most of them cannot be translated into other foreign languages, because of the restriction of rhythm or word orders of Japanese.
Anyway, it would be very appreciated to understnad our own culture from a question by penpal, Sebastian.

Ukimi-do is written like "浮御堂" in Japanese. Here is a site which explain it by Shiga-prefecture.
