Breathing in tango
Today, I’d like to pick up “breathing” especially. My teacher advised me not to use any specific movements to continue dancing except breathing i.e. in dancing, we have to concentrate on partner’s breathing all the time. When I practiced a new step, I only focused on my steps and I forgot my breathing… Then, my partner would have trouble in thinking about her next steps. Oh, my God. It was NOT dancing!!
In reviewing my piano, my (piano) teacher actually pointed me out about “breathing.” When I play the piano, I often play pieces by myself, and I always concentrate on my fingers’ movements. In considering pieces in a duet or chamber music, they use breathing effectively. Some solo piano pieces are also created by symphony, and at least, most pieces have some harmonies like traditional pieces by J.S. Bach.
Certainly, it might be difficult to play plural harmonies by oneself, but piano solo pieces should be related to breathing, I found today.
Anyway, I’ll pay attention to breathing from now on every day.
